I am a senior at Stephen F. Austin State University, currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Health Science with a minor in Psychology. With Health Science being as broad of a major as it is, I have many choices to pick from in terms of my future career. However, as of now, I am currently eager to garner more experiences before officially deciding on which path to take.
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and have lived there most of my life. I was lucky to have been blessed with a wonderful mother who likes to travel which lead to my family living in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico for three years. On top of that, I have traveled to a few other countries such as Israel and Indonesia.
Growing up, my hobbies mostly consisted of video games and anything technological. I built my first computer at age 11 and was enthralled with computers up until graduating high school. However, since being at college, my hobbies have become more outdoor and fitness focused. Currently, my favorite things to do are go to the gym, run on the trails, hike mountains, and go camping.
After my first year at Stephen F. Austin, I applied to be a CA (Community Assistant) based on a recommendation from a Hall Director. As of now, I’ve been a CA for three years, and it has been one of the most cherished jobs I’ve ever had. Overseeing a floor and the residents within it doesn’t just build leadership and responsibility, it also builds friendships and connections. I wouldn’t be as disciplined or responsible as I am now, had it not been for my position as a CA, and I could not be more thankful to be in this position.
Being in a position of wanting more experiences in life means that my internship opportunity at Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful is more important to me than anything. Not only do I get to build relationships with wonderful, kind-hearted people, I also get play a part in preserving nature and the beauty of the outdoors. I am more than ready to take charge and do what I can to further improve the already blossoming community of Nacogdoches.
