KNB EDUCATION GRANTS
Up to twelve grants of $250 each will be awarded during the 2016-2017 school year for beautification/education projects that reflect one or more of the KNB Mission Statement goals: litter prevention, beautification/community improvement, waste reduction/resource, conservation/recycling, and environmental education. Larger grants may be available for deserving projects—a total of $2,000 will be awarded.
Grants are available to any Pre-K through Grade 12 classroom or campus in Nacogdoches County, public or private. Applications may be made by an individual campus professional such as a classroom teacher, counselor, librarian, or principal for a group of students in a classroom, grade level, subject-matter team or school-sponsored student group.
Applications due Wednesday, November 2, 2016 by 5pm.
Winners will be announced Thursday, November 10, 2016
WASTE IN PLACE CURRICULUM
KNB provides the Waste in Place curriculum to schools in Nacogdoches county.
KNB offers two traveling education trunks that may be borrowed by educators or community groups. The trunks have supplies and instructions for making:
Recycled Paper including a blender, seeds and cookie cutters
Garbage Pizza including the pizza rounds, colored glue and "garbage"
Books about litter, recycling and composting
Edible Compost including cups & layers of compost
