Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful partnered with the Stephen F. Austin State University Office of Multicultural Affairs to participate in their volunteer program for MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 16, 2017. Volunteers were out all over Nacogdoches on Monday, working in honor of MLK Day of Service. Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful provided two projects for the volunteer service program, potting saplings at the KNB Tree Farm and a Highway cleanup.
24 volunteers worked at the KNB Tree Farm to pot hundreds of saplings and prepare for the KNB Tree sale fundraiser on February 25, 2017, from 9 am – 11 am. The tree sale will be held at the KNB Tree Farm, located at the City of Nacogdoches landfill. Trees are priced at $15 each.
The KNB Tree Farm provides trees for KNB fundraisers, beautification projects in Nacogdoches county, and, in the past, has donated trees to replace those lost due to severe weather.
Another group of 8 volunteers worked to clear litter from the roadways along the Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful Adopt A Highway, a 2 mile section of roadway located on the loop in Nacogdoches.
Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization affiliated with Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful.
